The Russian State Academic Bolshoi Drama Theater is a world-famous theater in St. Petersburg, founded in 1918, one of the first theaters created after the October Revolution.

Among the founders of the theater were Maxim Gorky, Alexander Blok, Alexander Benois. According to the idea of ??the initiators, the theater was to become a citadel of a heroic repertoire, a theater of great social passions, excited revolutionary pathos, a theater of “great tears and great laughter” (A. Blok).

The theater's performances in the first years of its existence fully corresponded to the revolutionary program of its founders. At that time, the Soviet drama had not yet developed and the best works of world classics were shown on the stage of the theater: the tragedies of W. Shakespeare and F. Schiller, the dramas of W. Hugo. At the same time, the theater staged plays by D. Merezhkovsky and V. Bryusov. Artists Mstislav Dobuzhinsky, Boris Kustodiev, Eugene Lansere worked closely with the theater.

The magazines are in good condition. Pages are in good condition. Abrasions on the edges. Iss. 1: there's missing a small part of the front cover, the spine is torn at the bottom. A small spot on one page. Iss. 2: slight tear at the bottom of the front cover, there's missing back cover, abrasions on the spine.

As of April 2021, KVK and WorldCat show two copies in libraries outside of Russia. Rare.
