Alexandra Sergeevna Khokhlova (1897, Berlin - 1985, Moscow) — a Soviet film actress, film director, screenwriter, teacher. The daughter of a Russian doctor and collector Sergei Botkin, on the maternal side — the granddaughter of a philanthropist and founder of the famous Tretyakov Gallery — Pavel Tretyakov. She began acting in films in 1916 in episodic roles. She studied at the State School of Fine Arts (VGIK) in the film workshop of the famous director Lev Kuleshov, who soon became her husband. The most significant roles of Alexandra Khokhlova in the cinema are the roles of the Countess in the film "The Extraordinary Adventures of Mr. West in the Country of the Bolsheviks" (1924) and the role of Dulcie in the film "The Great Comforter" (1933). The book about Khokhlova’s work was written by famous Soviet director Sergey Eisenstein and writer Victor Shklovsky.
